The Cumberland School
Headteacher: Omar Deria
A calm, confident and firm leader, Omar has transformed behaviour and aspirations since taking over as headteacher at The Cumberland School. His stated aim is to rival Forest Gate Community for GCSE results. He has already overseen a dramatic improvement in exam outcomes, student behaviour and staff culture.
Hackney New School
Headteacher: Charlotte Whelan
A highly experienced leader now on her second headship, Charlotte has led Hackney New School for over a year. In that time, she has presided over a positive inspection by Ofsted and improved the school’s GCSE results whilst creating a school where pupils demonstrate respect for each other through their outstanding behaviour.
